Claudia Schiffer was born on August 25,
1970 at 12:10 pm in Düsseldorf, West Germany but grew up in
Rheinberg, Germany with her parents and five siblings. At the age
of seventeen she was spotted by an agent from Metropolitan while
dancing at a nightclub in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was October
1987 and she was celebrating a friends birthday.
At the time she was a girl who was at the top of
her class, and on the road to becoming an attorney when she was
discovered. She speaks several languages, and was raised well by
her mother and father, who is a very successful attorney. Her first
Cosmo cover was just two years later in December 1989, she was nineteen.
Since then she has appeared on more than 400 magazine
covers including Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. In August 1994 Claudia
appeared in ELLE as "Barbie", photographed by Gilles Bensimon.
In the same year she also featured on the cover of 'Hello' magazine.
That year she made approximately $12 million (U.S.) and her estimated
worth in 2000 was $36 million.
In 1994 she got engaged to Las Vegas Magician David
Copperfield (the tenth most rich entertainer in the world). David
gave her a $4.5 million five-carat gold, oval-cut, diamond engagement
ring after dating her for seven months.
In Feb 2000 she was engaged to British art dealer
(and former Elle MacPhereson fiancé and night club promoter)
Tim Jeffries, 37.
Finally towards the end of 2001 she got engaged
to producer Matthew Vaughn, and on 25 May 2002 they were married.
They had their first child on 30 January 2003, Son, Caspar Matthew
De Vere Drummond, was born weighing 7 pounds. Then less than two
years later on 9 November 2004, she gave birth to a healthy baby
daughter, Clementine, in London. The baby reportedly weighed 7 pounds,
2 ounces.
